A domestic gas stove is composed of a gas supply system, a combustion system, a control system, an ignition system and other components.

1. Air supply system

The gas supply system of a gas stove includes a gas delivery pipeline composed of a gas intake pipe, an intake joint and a gas guide pipe, and a gas valve, etc., which have very strict requirements on air tightness.

2. Combustion system

The combustion system mainly refers to the burner. It consists of a nozzle, a wind adjustment plate, an ejector, a stove head, a fire cover and so on. The gas is ejected from the nozzle through the ejector, and the surrounding air is introduced into the mixing tube for full mixing (commonly known as primary air). The function of the air regulating plate is to change the amount of primary air entering by adjusting the size of the damper, so as to improve the state of the flame, so as to obtain a good combustion condition.

Gas stove burners mostly use atmospheric burners, also known as ejector partial premix burners, which are mainly composed of nozzles, air regulating plates, primary air inlets, ejector tubes, burners, and fire covers. Its main features are as follows:

1. The flame is short, the firepower is strong, and the combustion temperature is high.

2. It can burn different types of gas, with higher thermal efficiency, more complete combustion, and less CO content in the flue gas. (The national standard stipulates that the carbon monoxide concentration (volume percentage) in the flue gas should not be greater than 0.05)

3. Low pressure gas can be applied. Air is injected by gas, no blowing equipment is required.

4. The thermal strength of the fire hole is relatively large, and the combustion temperature is relatively high.

3. Ignition system

The ignition system of the gas stove mainly refers to the igniter. In addition to artificial ignition with matches and ignition rods, gas stoves mostly use piezoelectric ceramic ignition (also known as electronic ignition) and electric pulse continuous ignition (or pulse ignition) in China.

1. Electronic ignition (piezoelectric ceramic spark ignition)

Electronic ignition is the most widely used ignition method at present. It has the characteristics of high ignition rate, convenience, low price and compact structure. A piezoelectric ceramic igniter can fire about 35,000 times continuously, and under normal circumstances, its service life can reach more than 10 years.

The working principle of the piezoelectric ceramic igniter is: when the handle (knob) is pressed and turned by hand to ignite, the fork action of the ram mechanism is driven. Under the action of the spring force, the ram hits the end face of the piezoelectric ceramic, and the mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy , generating an instantaneous high voltage above 10000ν. Through the high-voltage wire and the connected electrode, an electric spark is fired between the electrodes at a distance of about 4-5mm, and the gas ejected from the nozzle next to the electrode is ignited.

2. Electric pulse ignition

Pulse igniter is a new type of ignition device, generally using battery as power source, it is fast, reliable and stable to use. As long as the micro switch is turned on, a series of electric sparks can be generated, and the ignition rate can be 100%.

4. Accidental flameout protection device

The installation of accidental flameout protection on domestic gas stoves has become a national mandatory standard, but there is basically no such device on commercial gas stoves, so here is a brief introduction. Accidental flameout safety protection devices include bimetallic type, thermocouple type and flame conduction type.

1. The function of the gas supply system is to provide the required gas to the gas stove, and its main components are the gas pipeline and the valve body assembly.

2. Combustion system: This system is an important part of the gas stove. Its main element is the burner.

3. Ignition system: The function is to mix and ignite the gas delivered to the burner and air. Its main element is the automatic igniter.

4. Automatic control system: Its function is to maintain and automatically control the combustion process. Its main components are flameout protection device, timing device, temperature detection device and so on.

5. Other constituent systems: The main function of this system is to provide support and maintenance. Including shell, liquid tray, pot support, stove feet and other components.

Fourth, the structure and function of the burner

The burner is an important part to keep the gas stove in good combustion condition. It is mainly composed of ejector, nozzle, stove head, fire cover, air regulating plate, primary air inlet and adjusting screw, see the figure below, its function is as follows

Ejector: In atmospheric burners, the air in the atmosphere is usually ejected by gas. Its role is

1. Eject high-energy gas into low-energy air, and mix the two evenly in the ejector;

2. The mixed gas forms a certain pressure, overcomes the resistance loss of the channel, and obtains a certain speed at the exit of the fire hole to ensure the stability of the combustion flame.

3. Transport a certain amount of gas to ensure the heat flow required by the burner.

The ejector is composed of a nozzle, a primary air inlet, an air regulating plate, a shrinking tube, and a throat (mixing tube) diffusion tube.

[Nozzle] One of the key parts of the gas stove, its function is mainly to inject the gas into the ejector and mix it with air in a certain proportion for the fire hole to burn.

The aperture size of the nozzle is determined by the type of gas source and the size of the heat flow; different gas sources have different apertures of the nozzle. Generally speaking, fixed nozzles are only suitable for one gas source. Once the gas source is changed, the nozzle needs to be replaced, otherwise it will not burn properly.

Air regulating plate] It is usually set at the primary air port of the ejector, also known as the primary air conditioner, which is set to make the primary air demand meet the requirements. And the proportion of the ejected air is appropriate to maintain the normal combustion flame.

Under normal circumstances, adjusting the damper plate can eliminate abnormal phenomena such as yellow fire, de-flashing, and tempering, and make it a normal combustion flame.

Burner head: The function of burner head is to evenly distribute the mixed gas of gas and air to the fire hole. Usually integrated with the ejector.

Fire cover: The outer surface is covered with rectangular or circular grooves along the circumference, and the matching surface of the burner forms a combustion fire hole. After the gas and air in the ejector are mixed in a certain proportion, it emerges from the fire hole, ignited in case of an open flame, and mixed with the surrounding air again, so that the gas is completely burned and the purpose of stabilizing the flame is achieved.
